Liberation of self requires two elements, insight and the cutting of prior energy links. Those who say that freedom is just one insight away do not understand the workings of energy links that have been built over numerous generations and life-times. Vice-versa, those who specialize in letting go also have to admit that at one point the all-encompassing insight about body, mind, world sets us free and not further energy work. Breaking free from the psychological self requires both, insight and letting go, the healing working of time as well as the power of the here and now.
Awakening is already it, no waiting for enlightenment is required. What we need to do is face the challenges of the present moment to the best of our abilities with the understanding that its purpose is to help us break free from the psychological notion of self. Otherwise, the purpose of the here and now is simply being, a joyful participation in the higher energies that are always at our disposal. We cannot say, every year we drop a little more of our psychological self, we get a little more enlightened. The system is in charge; maybe we get the toughest homework in year 7. Home-coming is non-linear.
