It occurred to me the other day that I have entered the third seven-year stretch in what I would call a spontaneous Awakening which happened in 2008. Everything changes from one day to the next and even the perception of the spiritual quest matures until the day when even the quest seems superfluous.
Compared to the initial phases of the Awakening phase there is no longer a good-sounding story, no longer the perceived need for light-working, but just as penetrating as the first day is the appreciation for the here now, living a life that misses the doer in action—a cessation of self so to speak.
I came up with a list of six prerequisites that make this journey possible:
“I Am That I Am” mindset: we live for the present moment and know that we have the higher energies blowing in our sails as long as we raise them.
Tribe: people come and people go, but there is always a core group of soul mates who are willing to take this journey with us. We walk each other home.
Mission: while it is no longer about the story of the light worker, some purposeful activities such as writing and community building remain for me.
Spiritual practices: we have to shed countless biological and cultural programming. It behooves to have a set of rules and practices to enable this body and mind to open up to the present moment. I few must haves in my case include, no meat, no alcohol, limited coffee, gym, nature, meditation, satsang sessions with likeminded, and many more.
Mindfulness: there are “I Am That I Am” moments and unconscious ones; there are also conscious moments of learning. Spiritual learning is ongoing.
These are some of my observations … would you care to share yours?
