The law of karma is probably right. It may not come about in a while, but eventually we get what we have sown. In a world of oneness, we better “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, or the consequences will come back to bite us.
The notion that we get slowly “better” over time, more whole, more pious, more considerate than before as our soul learns from our experiences over the lifetimes is probably also right, but please don’t bet on help from this one as this ascension is pretty glacial. Ego always finds a new playground.
Karma is looking out for us because it always brings the events back into our life that deserve our immediate attention. Conscious living is to face the karma-inspired events, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and find our essence by looking right through them. Our notion of self dissolves as we transcend.
Let’s not kid ourselves though, we cannot be spiritually aware all the time, and in any case, when we are aware, life simply flows through us without our active participation. In Awareness, we are part of the higher energies as they flow through us like a medium. Yet, true spiritual work is mindfulness.
Karma has a way to push our buttons. The spiritual learning opportunity is to realize when life puts us on auto-pilot and when we become conscious of the fact that we are unconscious. Being mindful of the inner robot is the opportunity, and karma-inspired events need to be applauded for waking us up.
The spiritual break-through is always here and now. Either we live it or we are conscious of the fact that we are once again unconscious. Don’t fight it, just observe what’s going on when that happens. Become more sensitive to life that holds all the answers to help getting your self out of the Way.
