When you are on a promising date you are alert. When you past your 26th wedding anniversary you might miss a few clues. That’s essentially the difference between the power of now and the fact that we are all human. In the ‘I Am’ moment all conditioning, memories and personal tendencies are temporarily put on ice; but then, when the personality blanket that we are all so familiar with slips on again, faux pas are bound to happen.
A colleague from work once told me, “You want to date an Italian gigolo, you don’t want to marry him.” as she contemplated whether to buy Italian public debt for the long haul or simply put in a short-term trade. Lover, spouse, enlightenment, spiritual novice, are mental concepts. In the here and now only one question arises, do the apparent two become one, or are we fooled by our mind and our personal tendencies once again.
The mind ponders about history, calculates averages, and classifies people into enlightened, awakened and sinner. God only see the Light and nothing but. Take your significant other on a date today. Read the post of the brother once again and feel the message with your heart rather than putting him into mind made boxes. The power of now is always ours to grasp, and if we miss the ball, let’s go for the rebound rather than regretting the missed shot.
The power of now puts the robotic mind out of commission—do you see?
