“Desire, now at last stop”, is the demand of the Ashtavakra Gita. Not in a stoic sense of killing your desire though, desire is part of life and killing it in the name of spirituality is suicide. No, the claim is to look through our personal desires and realize that we are Awareness, the eyes of God looking on creation unfolding. Now at last stop, feel, observe, be still. With an open heart, open eyes and an open mind we float in the river of life rather than trying to swim upstream, compelled by our personal desires.
