“As within, so without,” is another way of saying what J. Krishnamurti concluded, “the observer is the observed.” There is a “body-mind-world matrix” at work which is interwoven. We are not separate from it as our modern brain simulates. We are right in the middle of it, observer, creator, enjoyer of life as is.
Modern wo(man) figures that the world is our oyster and dives for the oysters that contain the pearls. Spiritual wo(man) partly breaks free from the matrix, occasionally riding the Current that is outside of the idiosyncratic “I,” while in other occasions being caught in the illusion of being separate like everyone else.
How to make the tension to the unitive experience of “life as is” complete? Can we observe this separate “I” with its drives, desires and aversions in action with the same objective mindset as we perceive outside events? Can we perhaps develop an equanimous attitude towards all outer and inner happenings?
Someone once said to me that we are all islands separate from each other. I didn’t know what to say then but later it occurred to me that the landmass is connected. It’s the water that generates the impression that we are separate. So, can we acquire that sonar equipment that tracks the unity not the separation?
Enjoy Grace as it presents itself but otherwise stay with the “I” as it rises and falls with its desires, aversions, and visions of separations. In deep meditation we vibrate at the frequencies of peace, abundance and love. In real life, stay with the “I” and its countless identifications until the Current appears through the illusion and manifests our birthright—serenity, abundance and love.
