The Attention of a Tao Traveler

Legend has it that just days before the Great Crash of 1929 a wealthy investor pulled all his money out of the stock market because a shoe polisher was telling him how much money he had made in equities.

 Whether this story is true or not, the Tao operates exactly like that. Every interaction, every word, every gesture has a meaning for you, but you can only truly appreciate if you approach everyone and every situation without any preconceived notion. Life appears like a giant painting, displayed in many dimensions, while being rolled out over time. When you embrace the Tao completely, you cannot help living in  Eckhart Tolle's now, because otherwise you would be missing an essential ingredient. When you are with people you have the chance to get completely lost. In this word, thoughts come to a standstill and you are just reacting to the music of the magnificent play. Along the Tao there is complete attention and with it you will never miss a beat because along it, everything follows as naturally as if connected with a magic red threat.

When you meet someone who you consider annoying make the effort to understand why. Don't just wish this person to go away, because this character, in one form or another, will come back. You attract this character like a magnet, but once you have found the personal message you either will change your opinion or the annoying character will leave your life altogether. The Persian Poet Hafiz discovered some 700 years ago 'Everybody is God speaking, so why not be polite and listen!' Everything and everyone is the Tao at work, once you realize this, true creativity will flow from you.
