Osho was a brilliant man. To this day I read his insights and am blown away by his stroke of genius. Yet, I hope I will not offend his followers if I say that what happened in the final years of his Oregon cult wasn’t exactly kosher. Does this mean we should strip him of his enlightenment trophy? Or take Alan Watts. He described the workings of the Way thousand times better than I ever could. Yet he was an alcoholic towards the end of his life. I may have managed to keep my addictive nature in check; does that make me a more useful spiritual resource for others?
Obviously, this perspective of classifying a person into enlightened, awakened and ordinary makes little sense. There is only one way to square the circle. All of us have the power to be one with the higher energies, and all of us can be all too human. The power of now calls the shots, and it is our calling whether to step up to the plate or drop the ball. S (erenity), E (nergy), L (ove), F (low) prevails the moment we realize the workings of our self and manage to connect with the higher energies. The power of now is available to all of us. Did you miss the beat? So what, return to the power of now!
