The Shift

I have experienced the shift a couple of times before. Year three in my economics studies I suddenly got how an economist thinks. In year twelve in my work in the financial industry I suddenly got the market psychology and was no longer fooled by it. The question is, is there something like a shift in the spiritual quest as well?

Everyone talks about enlightenment as the big breakthrough following Awakening and I do not want to argue with our enlightened friends. I am just surprised that no one talks about “the shift” instead. We may not have left the pain body of the past behind, we may still be driven by subconscious longings, but we do so from a place of serenity and love.

Awakening is seeing a world we never did before and enjoying the ride. But then, the conditioning of the past tends to get a hold of us and we fluctuate seemingly helplessly between the old and the new world. We know that the next feat of Awareness will just be around the corner but we are not in control, Grace is calling the shots. We are just showing up for the ride.

The shift is a change in perspective. There is that inner silence we can always return to, the self-induced interference notwithstanding. We may be caught on the wrong foot if someone pushes our buttons or if we once again get fooled by the carrot that dangles in front of the conditioned mind donkey. Yet, with one simple adjustment the inner silence returns and with it “I Am.”

You naturally ask how to experience this shift. The inner peace is not an observer, but the inner peace sees what happens. The inner peace is not an actor, but its presence calls the shots. The best description of this inner peace is provided by the famous double-slit experiment when light collapses its wave of possibilities to a particle because the observer is present.

We are the web of Oneness—connect with the inner peace and see!
