Staying with what is

                        Dreams, plans

                          fantasies

Suffering                  here               Projection

the pain                   now               of the pain

                             Memories,

                            regrets, guilt

The trick is to stay with the moment at hand even if it hurts. Have you observed what happens when we don’t feel 100 percent? We tell ourselves how we will be better off in the future, or how everything will only get worse, or we beat ourselves up over the mistakes of the past.

Even if we manage to stay in the present moment, we may project our pain on others, either by telling ourselves how amazing they are, or how much we hate them. We also may just wallow in self-pity. It can hurt to stay in the present moment, just being with the heavy energy without escaping.

What happens if we are sitting quietly with the pain body? It talks to us. Maybe it reveals something about who we thought we were, but as the insight hits, we get transformed in the process. We retrieve pain bodies from the depth of our being. The light streams in if we manage to sit with it.
