It is Not About You

I was standing in front of our company building when somebody asked me " Do you know where Mr. Dooley's could be?" I responded "no idea", which happened to be the right response. He was already walking away from me when I added "it's not me", which was the less useful response since, as it turned out, Mr. Dooley's happens to be a tavern nearby. I don't think he even got my faux pas since he had already spotted the pub and was already on his way. For me it was a nice reminder of Don Miguel Ruiz's Second Agreement: It's not always about you.
