Ying and Yang

In my favorite spiritual community - Personal Development for Smart People - we discussed the cases of fallen gurus. Actually I didn't get emotionally involved given that I didn't know much about most of the fallen gurus, but today when I googled Swami Muktananda, I was in for a shock. Allegedly, he had sex with underaged girls when he was already in his 70s. How can that be? I know enough about him to know that he achieved enlightenment in his life, so how can someone like him fall so deeply?

I choose the title ying and yang, because the only explanation I can come up with is that he suppressed his sexual urges during his monastic years, so that they caught up with him later. Ying and yang: true wholeness seems to imply that you transcend the circle containing both forces entirely. It appears that our psychologists are right after all: suppressing a desire is as effective as pushing a basketball under water - it will come up with a big splash.
