Knowledge is not a motivation for learning this course. Peace is. As a prerequisite for knowledge, peace must be learned.
A Course in Miracles
A fellow-traveler in my favorite spirituality discussion group at the 'Personal Development Forum for Smart People', described how he was addicted to video games as a child, gobbled up knowledge at a ferocious speed when he was a student and in his 30s, has been on a spiritual quest with similar intensity. My question was, could it be that all of these phases were driven by the same force inside, and while pursuing spirituality appears like a worthwhile enterprise, perhaps he was still just running away from some emptiness inside? May peace be with you, and in that moment of stillness, knowledge will be present as well.
