What do you do when you wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep? How do you react when you feel that tingling in your throat that tells you that you are falling sick again? How will you respond when you wake up feeling depressed? What can you do to slow down your mind which is racing again as work is piling up? Just observe and don't do anything about it. Be aware of your body, your emotions and the thoughts that run through your head. Find peace of mind in this awareness and discover how your system slows down when the observer kicks in.
Body, mind and your emotions can be on auto-pilot, they do their thing whether you are aware of it or not. It must have happened to you that you suddenly "wake up" and realize that your mind went to dark places but somehow you have no idea how it got there in the first place. To prevent a negative train of thoughts or emotions leave the station, quiet yourself down and just observe what happens beneath the surface.
While you can't decide autonomously how your body, mind and emotions should respond to bothersome situations like fatigue, illness or stress, you definitely have a choice in how you are going to respond. Be honest with everything that is going on inside and outside of you; be patient and be open to this experience. When the observer shows up you know that you are independent of your body, mind, and emotions. You belong to a higher dimension at this point in time. You are the pair of eternal eyes that is watching everything unfolding with love, acceptance, and openness. The Indians call this state OM, the divine moment when the observer realizes that she is free.
