Seize the Moment

I was reading a beautiful homecoming story the other day with my son. The heroine tried remembering her origin, but since she was two when she last saw her parents all the information was stored deep in her subconscious. She discovered the magic of lucid dreaming - the curious event when you wake up within a dream and you try manipulating it. She was very close in getting the information about the whereabouts of her true parents, but a monster kept on getting in the way. This happened over and over, night after night, until one night she mustered all her will-power and screamed at the monster, " This is my dream, vanish monster, you don't exist!" and jumped right into its claws. Behold, it disappeared and she got her precious memory back and after a few more adventures was safely reunited with her parents.

In the Bible we have Moses' homecoming story. One day Yahweh told Moses to lead the people of Israel into freedom. Moses had many struggles ahead, but mostly his magic staff helped him out. The darkest moment he faced when the people of Israel were trapped by the water and the incoming Egyptian army and when he raised his staff to part the sea nothing happened. It was only when he held hands with his sister and when they both jumped into the water when it suddenly parted.

No one can prevent you from going home but you have a force to reckon with, you! Unfortunately there are parts of you that don't want you to succeed. Yet, once you discover a painful loop like the heroine in my son's story faced in her dream, just get it done with. You have only yourself to fear. Everyone else is rooting for your success. Seize the moment my friend. God is always standing next to you, ready to stretch out Her hand and perform the miracle with you. Welcome home, it has been a long journey!
