The Science of "You"

Do you know that you can study the "science of you"? The way you operate or work, the illnesses you get from time to time, or the state of your mental balance. What exactly makes you happy, and which aspects of what you do and experience bring you lasting joy and peace? What makes you serene, and what makes you energetic and healthy?

We all need to know more about our body, our emotions and our soul so that we can become the person we are born to be. We also need to learn how to work with our environment to enjoy and make the best of our life. Without understanding all aspects of ourselves we end up leading our life by chance, are conditioned by forces apparently beyond our control and don't live up to our spiritual potential. When we know ourselves better, we can realize the body and personality we adore, experience the emotions that makes us truly fulfilled, experience love in all our connections, and lead a spiritually meaningful life. So in that way, we can think of walking a spiritual path like getting a degree at the best school that is available - life.

If we truly want to enjoy our life and make the best of it, we need to know what makes us happy, healthy, peaceful, and loving. Certainly, we cannot totally control our life, but we can position ourselves towards it. Negative experiences and problems are nothing but pointers to reposition ourselves, while most of the time we are able to make our life a celebration of success, serenity, health, and love. But to get to that stage we have to find out what truly makes us tick and how we really interact with your environment. Take all the feedback life proves you with day in, day out and learn to remove all internal and external obstacles to make your life a smoothly functioning  one. It is very much driving a car, we need to have knowledge of a car and the roads we are on. It takes a lot of practice to become a skilled driver and to develop our instincts.

Unfortunately there is one complicating factor and that is that our perceptions may be distorted. We see what we want to see and not what is.  Some time we feel energetic, empowered and at the top of our game while beneath the surface we are sowing the seeds of our next illness and misfortune. And sometimes we feel tired, stretched and unsuccessful, when in fact we experience deep spiritual break-throughs. To go back to the driving example, if you are a busy global jet-setter, please to remind yourself early in the morning when you get into the car of whether you have to driving on the left side in London or the right of the road in Amsterdam. A spiritual path will do this for you. The Tao will patiently teach you the difference of what seems to be and what truly is. After your graduation you will be able to delineate true loving intentions from disguised aggression, no matter what.

Devote yourself to the science of you, it will be well worth your effort. Observe all the connections and life situations you experience. Reflect whenever something seems to be out of the ordinary, a sad look even though things seems to be going your way; an unexpected smile from a stranger. Study the symbolic meaning of illnesses and supposed misfortunes. Life is a giant virtual reality show with only one purpose, to bring you home. Experience how the world synchronizes with you as you open up to life and self-reflection. You will be surprised how loving this world becomes out of a sudden. Enjoy!
