Habits and Routines along the Way

Have you ever observed how you create your own comfort zone?  Your habits, your routines and your relationships. Have you ever observed how you feel and respond when your routine is being disturbed?

Step by step, either unconsciously or consciously, we build up a comfort zone for ourselves. It could consist of our routines, the people we hang out with and our work. When we create these boundaries for ourselves, we naturally calm down.

Yet every Tao traveler knows that there is a yin and yang to everything. When you create boundaries and comfort zones for yourself know that there will be events and people that are going to upset you. The other downside is that once you have gotten used to people, routines or particular habits it is hard to walk away from them, even when life encourages you to do so. Addictions are sad examples in that direction.

As a Tao traveler, we know that life is here to guide us. Every moment is about adjusting to the situation, the people and the hints we are getting along the Way. Our focus is the now, which often is a mind-blowing experience. Habits and routines are as pleasant to us as to everyone, but at the same time, there is an incredible openness to changes of any kind. Not because we are somehow "better" or more agile than anyone else but rather because we have learned that presents come our way when we react to life's hints. Why don't you try that approach yourself for a while and see whether you like what you experience.

“I can only be happy when a situation meets my needs” is a self-imposed belief system. Try, "I am happy and at peace in any situation because She walks with me" instead. Enjoy your freedom and creativity along the Way!
