It Is As It Is

Yoga is the journey of the Self through the self to the Self.
(Bhagavad Gita)

I once read a story in a local newspaper about a body builders with the largest biceps in the world. When his wife was interviewed she said, "It took me a while to get used to these arms, but now when I see ordinary guys on the street I think to myself, are they sick or something?"

The self is the self, you cannot wish away its sentiment and logic. The body builder has his motivations to develop the biggest arms in the world, and his wife has her reasons why she finds his figure more attractive than others. It is as it is. We always have to respect what is because chances are, it is there for a good reason.

You have to accept yourself in whatever you think, do and feel. But you can explore the logic of the self, you can study the yin and yang in your life and you can choose the environments you are operating in. No matter where you are and no matter what you do, there will always be an up and a down, a better and a worse, a pleasure and a pain. Surround yourself with the logic that makes sense at the time and when the feeling passes there will be a new perceived what is.

I actually found the quote, "Yoga is the journey of the self through the self to the self" without capitalizing the expression "Self". Perhaps it should be written that way. The perceived self that looks up to the holy notion "Self" is the same sentiment that looks down on the small arms of ordinary men. Along the Way it is as it is, and what is just happens to be perfect.
