From Bondage to Freedom

 If you sit on the bank of a river after a storm, you see the stream going by carrying a great deal of debris. Similarly, you have to watch the movement of yourself, following every thought, every feeling, every intention, every motive. Just watch it; that watching is also listening. It is being aware with your eyes, with your ears, with your insight, of all the values that human beings have created, and by which you are conditioned. It is only this state of total awareness that will end all seeking(J. Krishnamurti)

Why do people repeat their behavior, even if it is not good for them?  More or less, we are all like Pavlov’s Dog, running after rewards and shying away from pain. We repeat our behavior because of a few successes, of getting what feels right without really thinking if this behavior is good for us or not.  We keep doing what we think will get us what we want, and we do it in a robotic way. We certainly have a tough time changing course when this behavior is no longer working for us.  Too late do we find out that getting what we want brings us harm in the long run.

Substance abuse, excessive shopping, losing our temper, greed, lust, expensive travels, video games, over-eating. Have we captured your challenges as well? We are all wired to seek excitement, happiness and success, and we sometimes cut corners getting there. Without awareness of the upcoming challenge we march on robotically until one day we fall into a big hole. The good news though, that's also the times when we start to ask spiritual questions and when we look for a new way.

Join us on this new way. Find for yourself that once you start asking questions, and once you start looking at the world with new eyes, there is no going back. Once awakening starts, you will never really be able any more to reprogram Pavlov's dog. You will keep encountering interferences until Pavlov's dog is abolished altogether. When it comes to the WAY, robots will never find IT. May we all awake from our deep sleep.
