Overwriting Bully Memes

You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.
(Eckhart Tolle)

Yesterday a woman who looked perfectly fine distributed a picture of herself in the Spiritual Network community, apologizing for the "fact" that she is ugly. I couldn't believe it, and also didn't really know what to say in response, given that, unfortunately in her case, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. What she really has to do is to uninstall the belief set that she is ugly. Most likely someone said something to her when she was younger and started a cancerous meme that is undermining her self-approval. She got many uplifting responses, so I hope she embraces this new world view and runs with it.

They say that some 70 000 thoughts run through our mind every day, and that the origins of the train of thought is often subconscious. So good for us if we feel loved deep down inside; when we know that we are unlimited potential, temporarily wrapped up in star-dust and visiting planet earth to express our SELF. In short, good for us if the stuff that bubbles to the surface makes us happy. Yet, unfortunately many of us have an Achilles Heel, just as the woman who put herself down yesterday.

When everything that happens to us is essentially a response to our subconscious and conscious belief set, the question of course arises, how do we change it? We certainly can follow the self-help community and use "The Secret" to help us get what we truly aspire. We can also live our life interacting moment by moment with the WAY, finding our path back HOME. Often we do both; questioning and overwriting limiting belief sets is something the WAY also does for us.

I have discovered a few empowering memes thanks to the WAY. Today I know that we should look for meaning in every interaction. I also know that everything we ever need we already have. I do my job as a financial strategist under this premise, honoring and appreciating every person, every question and every problem that comes my way.

How can we "know" that we are limitless, beautiful, intrinsically loved and powerful beyond belief? Well, we can't but we can give this working hypothesis a try and just experience how life responds. I would never write a "self-help" book for the reason that the DAO is at our disposal day in, day out, and there is nothing I could say that SHE wouldn't put so much more eloquently and powerfully as SHE interacts with you. Yet, I am happy to be HER messenger asking you to be mindful of any bully meme that you might have been exposed to. Yesterday many of my spiritual friends reminded the woman who posted her photo that she is in fact beautiful. Let's overwrite bully memes together, one at a time.
