A Brand-New Day

Don't start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Every morning we wake up is the first day of the rest of our life.

When you watch the soap opera stories on TV, the next day is always a fresh start. No matter how dreadful an occurrence may have been for the character in the plot, no matter how much he got ridiculed, beaten down or how successful he was on the day before, the next episode always starts just as if nothing had happened. The next day is always a fresh start; the cards always get shuffled new again; that is, at least according to the script-writers. There is lot's of wisdom in this view of the world.

When we truly observe our real-life interactions with people, they are exactly like displayed in these TV shows. With every passing day, with every good night's sleep, people move on with their lives and shuffle their cards again the next morning. We may feel the weight of the past; we may remember the incurred wounds from the day before, but this is entirely our own movie production. It doesn't have to be that way at all.

The person we meet on the next blessed day opens the door for us to let go of all the irrelevant stuff from the day before. Meet the brother as if for the first time and get lost in the exchange. Chances are the new day opens a new page in your book, and perhaps even a new chapter. Enjoy your brand-new day!
