When the Snake sheds its Skin

We say in the spiritual community that the e-g-o is that part of our self-identification that ‘edges-GOD-out’ and hit the nail on its head. We sometimes forget though that this process of shedding what we perceived as ‘us’ takes time and effort. That’s where a spiritual path comes in. It is a designed process of insight, encouragement, as well as wear and tear, that gets us to that stage. ‘Enlightenment’ is that blessed shift of consciousness that sees it all fall off on one blessed day, but until that day, keep rubbing, keep going, and never mind a few bruises and tears in the process.
