Holiness can wait

A renowned Indian guru committed suicide. When I saw the post I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The note he left behind said that life had become too heavy a burden for him. It definitely reinforced my belief that authenticity is what we should be after on our spiritual quest. Let’s take this ‘Me’ and embrace every inch of it; let’s appreciate every aspect of our being. Let’s fall in love with what is instead of aspiring to live up to some holy mental image.

Authenticity does not mean that we have to live with every flaw and can’t strive to do better. It just means that we have to start with what is rather than wishing it away. Did you know that black holes serve as the glue that hold galaxies together? In the same fashion, weave the dark corners of your Soul into ‘the story of you’. Be real! Let go of everything fake, beautiful as it might look on others. Holiness can wait. Wholeness comes eventually. Today, just be authentic!
