When Sai Baba of Shirdi wanted to propel the spiritual journey of a disciple he took on his karma and fell violently sick. A group of medical examiner were called and they all collectedly decided that he was dying. Five minutes before Sai Baba was scheduled to give a sermon, he asked for some water, sprinkled it over his head and body and got up to give his speech. The sprinkling of water was a symbolic act of cleaning and his mind had decided that he was now cured again, and he was.
Medical conditions are certainly real on one plane of consciousness, but they are also a symbol for something being out of line spiritually. When you get sick, always ask for the symbolic meaning of why as well as the how. I developed an ear infection a few years back while diving in the pool. It was mild and I left it untreated for a long time and noticed how the it first flared up with any anger-outbursts, but then get better with my improved spiritual mindset. It was like a lava was bubbling beneath the surface ready to erupt. Eventually a good old locally applied antibiotics got rid of it, but I could first hand experience at that time that an illness is really a symbol of the body with a spiritual message for us.
Please look for the spiritual adjustment that needs to take place and your immune system will respond accordingly. Whether we are always spiritual advanced enough to heal our illnesses mentally I wouldn’t know. I just enjoy my uncanny ability to spot the symbolic meaning of every sniffle in my system. All I aim to do is to cut out all spiritual impurities out of my life. A medical flare-up is a good reminder to bring balance and wholeness back in our life. Trust that you are whole and trust that you are healthy. You can leave the treatment up to our excellent doctors, as I did when I applied the cream with the antibiotics when I got rid of my ear infection. Yet, you can greatly aid the healing process by letting your whole Self shine. May peace be with you!
