This keeps you back. It keeps you back because there is a self that is searching.
There is an "I" that is searching. There is a "me" that is trying to become something,
and the whole idea is to remove something from your consciousness; removing all concepts and all preconceived ideas."
Robert Adams
As I put my upcoming book together, I observe an interesting dilemma. My mind wants to write it, yet, ‘Breaking Free’ is about breaking free from our mind’s spell. How can we resolve this Catch 22 of spirituality? Actually, in my case the answer is very simple. I write about the experiences of my friends and the struggles that some of us still face. Putting these experiences into context and solving some of our dilemmas gives my mind something to do while a higher Authority is writing the book.
Perfection is the enemy of the good because our mind is behind the concept of the ‘perfect’. A spiritual path starts with what is, and the good is readily available there. A higher Authority puts the pieces together for us when we focus on what lies in front of us. When everything is said and done, the mind understands what the eye sees and the heart feels: life’s little imperfections fit perfectly into one giant mosaic. Let your mind focus on what lies before you and something great will come of it.
