Don't reach for bliss or speak of realization too quickly. It is amazing how beautiful the the foreplay can be, but it is all still in relation to a body. It is the darkness that we must enter if we are to Awaken completely from this dream. Death is the doorway. Everything prior however subtly, is still about "me". This teaching is for those who are really burning for Freedom. While living, we must enter death itself. The moth must kiss the flame! Death is the doorway.

I stumbled on this quote this morning and I had to laugh out loud when Ramana Maharshi encouraged us to enjoy the foreplay. A foot in the real world with body attachments and still a few soul missions to complete, while granted a glimpse of the ‘no self’ state that is always at our disposal. Enjoy the foreplay but don’t expect every ‘no self’ excitement be followed by a mind blowing ecstasy. There is still a little work ahead to let go of self. So have fun with your Divine Lover whenever you have a chance, but if She leaves you, look for the next Lover through your tear-filled eyes. Remember, dying is part of Awakening.
