Life is not here to make you comfortable but to show you who you are

I noticed this long ago when I was still working in the financial industry and in amazement had to work through one transformative crisis and boom after the other. Unfolding events are not logic and predictable, creation unfolds to bring along relentless change. Just take the upcoming US elections, hard to imagine a more extreme choice set for the US electorate. Europe had similar soul searching opportunities between the left and the right. Change is being enforced on us.

 

Likewise, if sometimes your personal life feels unbalanced, the same creative forces are at work. Life is designed to confront you with choices that show us who we are at the deepest level. As such welcome the pleasure and the pain as a truth-finder without getting lost in it. I started out the spiritual journey as a Vedanta student with the desire to understand, but I have moved along the quest to the heart. That’s where our spiritual wisdom resides. No matter what life throws at you, ask:

 

Serenity

Am I operating in oneness or duality?

 

Energy

Am I connected with that frequency that operates outside of self-identification?

 

Love

Do I feel the love in my heart?

 

Flow

Does the flow of life prevail?

 

Never mind what life throws at us, is it self-created, or do we allow S-E-L-F creation by getting the self out of the Way. That’s the question “you” have to ask. Otherwise, enjoy the ride!
