Divine magnetism

"The Self is like a powerful magnet hidden within us. It draws us gradually to Itself, though we imagine we are going to It of our own accord. When we are near enough, It puts an end to our other activities, makes us still, and then swallows up our own personal current, thus killing our personality. It overwhelms the intellect and floods the whole being.

We think we are meditating upon It and developing towards It, whereas the truth is that we are like iron-filings and It is the Self-magnet that is pulling us towards Itself. Thus the process of finding the Self is a form of divine magnetism."

Ramana Maharshi

I had a doctor appointment and was driving home. I looked up at the car in front of me. It’s license plate said “new” with the number of day next to it. That’s how I felt after receiving—mostly—a clean bill of health. There is a higher dimension out there that often has fun with me, sometimes assigns a little homework, or grants a lesson learned.

Our unconscious is in the driver’s seat, whereas our conscious attention only thinks that we are in charge. Every thought, feeling and occurrence is a message sent to ourself with the invite to feel, see, sense the energy and to understand to whom this message is sent. Spiritual living is mostly fun, often intriguing, and sometimes sad. Anyway, bring it on and let divine magnetism do the steering.
