Jesus versus the Secret

There are hundreds of paths up the mountain, all leading to the same place, so it doesn't matter which path you take. The only person wasting time is the one who runs around the mountain telling everyone that his or her path is wrong. (Hindu proverb)

Jesus once said, find your Father first and all that will be given to you. He certainly discovered a path to God and I consider myself a living example of that insight. Yet, there was also Sri Ramakrishna's observation - the enlightened mystic of 19th century India - who once remarked that religion is not for the poor. People first have to eat before they can look for God.

Most of us are well-fed today, but there may still be a dimension in our life where we feel dissatisfied. Why don't we find abundance first before we intensify our spiritual mission? Everyone has this power. The Secret is out; we can manifest whatever we wish with the help of the Law of Attraction. So maybe the Way is to overcome once's notion of scarcity first and then find God amidst all the abundance. There is no wrong or right, many paths lead to Rome. Let's find the one that works for you!

Every path is only a starting point, a higher Power will take you to your desired destination from there. The Secret by itself won't make you happy. True happiness, peace and power can only be found outside of the ego realm. Yet, the spiritual path without the Secret may entail a repression of authentic desires that always haunts you at a later stage. As said, there is no right or wrong; there is only the Way - you decide on the first steps, the higher Power will do the rest for you.

The Secret of the Tao

I remember the time when I first read "The Secret", the book that claims that the universe is your oyster as long as you believe that it is. I had some reservations about the message. While I knew that the Law of Attraction is correct, I also felt our spiritual mission should first of all be about finding God. The words of the New Testament were ringing in my ears:  "But seek first His Kingdom and righteousness and all that will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33)

Today I would say that The Law of Attraction is just another esoteric way of living. If you feel that the Law of Attraction is your starting point, experiment with it as much as you like, and the more power to you if you are able to mentally bend the laws of the universe with your positive thinking. Actually, I am amazed how many scientific authors beat up on "The Secret" and their authors and dismiss the whole thing as nothing but nonsense. "The Secret" is true. The world you see is nothing but a function of your belief set.  The New Testament also says, "Verily, verily I say onto you, if you have faith as little as this mustard seed, you can say to this mountain remove yourself and it will. Nothing will be impossible if you have faith." (Matthew 17:20)

No matter what your starting point, I venture to say that eventually you will stumble on the Tao - the holy and magnificent interaction of the "I" and the world. You can only find meaning when you manage to merge with something that transcends the "I", and there is magic in this encounter. The Tao is the lesson plan brings you home to the Source. Along the Tao you are very much encouraged to practice your positive thinking. You see the signs that tell you to part the waters like Moses did, just as you sometimes see the signs that tell you to walk away. In short, you become Her instrument. Walking the Tao is the realization that life is so creative and just perfect as is if you don't let the "I" get in the way. But in all that, the "I" will always be perfectly happy as it melts away.

So don't give up your big aspirations even if not all of your manifestation experiments work out. "The Secret" is true. Be open to the Tao and learn to be a true magician, the one who is here to manifest love wherever she walks. The beauty is, once love becomes the focus of your life you might as well put your magic wand safely away. Along the Tao there is love no matter where you look. No positive thinking is required; just observing the beauty of what is.

The Secret Behind the Secret

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
(Matthew 6:33)

The Secret folks tell you that you can have whatever your heart aspires. They may be right; try it for yourself. What you should find out in the process is that this world of yours that you perceive as real today is not so real after all. The Law of Attraction states that you are the creator of your movie, with your conscious thoughts and desires, as well as your subconscious drives. Change your thoughts, bring your subconscious drives out in the open to the surface and cut out all the conflicts and see how your life and environment changes in the process.

I am a big fan of life coaching. The idea that you can clean up your preference structure, disentangling your conscious drives from your subconscious brakes and reservations is something that I have experienced for myself. If there is something in your life that you apparently can't get even tough you desire it so much, you should always be able find out what internal conflict is holding you back. Ultimately though, all Manifestors have to become spiritual if they like to perfect their mind game. If you like to realize your life's purpose, you will see how the Universe is rooting for you. Yet, when you try to manifest every whim that your mind comes up with, you will run into resistance. This resistance is coming from you. The ego will undermine you. This world and your perceived 'I' simply don't exist and that is hard for the 'I' to accept. 'I Am' exist and this state of consciousness is perfect. The secret behind the secret is that you have everything, you do not need to aspire anything.

On Faith

Since I am a Numerologist, I took six business cards for a meeting today just because the Number of the Day happens to be 6. When I put them into my suit pocket, I discovered that there already were business cards in it, and when I counted them I realized that exactly 6 were lying inside. The message of the Tao in this case is pretty clear: everything you think you need, you already have. Do not worry about anything!

The Law of Attraction folks tell you the modern version of Jesus' claim 'if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move.' The question of course, how do you get the faith that it does? Maybe it is helpful to turn the story line around. The trick is to find out that this world that looks so real to you simply doesn't exist the way you perceive it. This is something you can experience very much for yourself. I have noticed this in my interactions with others. To my surprise, as I changed my thinking about them, their behavior changed with it. Everything that you experience is an outcome of your belief structure.

'Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists. Herein lies God's peace', the Course in Miracles claims. Make this thesis your working hypothesis. Everything you see and experience in this world is a perfect opportunity for you to heal. You want something, while others want something else. Find the Path of the Golden Middle - the Tao - that works for everyone. You don't need faith at all to test this hypothesis, just try it. Your thesis is, everything is perfect as is if only I let all the parts interact the way they are supposed to. You can try that anywhere, at home as well as at work. How difficult is it to have faith in something that happens to you over and over again? Take the first step and let the Tao do the rest. Your faith will strengthen along the Way.

Manifesting Your Dreams

You know about The Secret, right? The promise that the world is your oyster as long as you have the faith that it is. I am a scientist by training so my response would be, just try it and see what happens. It is possible to be entirely synchronized in your internal state with your external environment. I remember one time I was flying business class on a flight from Frankfurt to Boston and I was checking in, a thought hit me, "You are flying first class today". Indeed, when I sat down on my assigned seat, a woman came up to me and said, "Oh, you have 13D as well." A moment later a stewardess invited me to join the first class.

If you say that you would like to manifest your dreams, I would first ask you how do you know that your dream is what you really want deep inside. Life's struggles - the frustrations of bumping into constraints - is about finding what you really want. Fact of the matter is that if you exhausted by life's ups and downs, chances are that you are more receptive to your inner voice than if you only experiences ups followed by more ups. Nothing gets your ego more nutrition than success.

When you mentally manifests things, try to aim for stuff that in the end you are indifferent about. On that first class flight the only added convenience I really cared for was a rose for my wife and a sweater for myself with a cool logo on it. It turned out that I had to fight hard to get the rose through customs and the sweater didn't survive the next laundry - I guess it should have been dry-cleaned instead - so the point is that most of the time we don't really need the upgrade we aspire to have. If the ego is rooting for something you can be sure that interferences will be along the way. Manifestations require faith and the ego - the voice that wants to get things - will make sure you have none. The ego is a capricious force as you probably have already found out for yourself. Let the Tao manifest your dreams and you will be sure to find out that what you truly desire you already have.

Mental Manifestations

The other day I had to pick up family from the airport and I left early since I knew that finding a parking spot over there is such a hassle. Indeed, when I arrived I couldn't find anything and I was just circling on end. It started raining heavily and I was preparing myself mentally for a long night ahead. It was then when I heard U2's Beautiful Day on the radio and I thought to myself 'That's odd, after all, it is raining cats and dogs, so why would they play this song right now?' But as I had this positive mental association with this song, I suddenly wondered whether this could mean that I would find a parking spot soon. Indeed, when the last note of the song finished, I had one!

What do you make of 'The Secret', the promise that the world would be your oyster if only you believe that it is? I can't say that I live by it, the path of the Tao is a different one, but stories like my parking lot experience should make us aware that mental attitudes matter a lot in your day-to-day interactions. How easy is it to start on the wrong foot and then have your mind race from one negative outcome to the next until you can't see the sunshine anymore. I think it is possible to accept every situation life presents to you as is, accept the feeling that it causes in you and then ask yourself the question 'So where is the upside from here?' The Power of Positive Thinking is to understand that every cloud has a silver lining. Visualize the next open door no matter what happens and chances are you will find it.

In Search of Meaning

Being a Tao traveler means to accept life's waves without any preconceived notions. Clearly, you will have general goals like having creative professional outlets, having certain material standards, having friends, a community you are tied into, a loving family, etc., but otherwise you leave it entirely up to the Tao in which direction you will go. The Tao will shower you with blessings as long as you are open to everything. Living in the Now is easy when moment by moment you are on the look out for a new creative spark.

I sometimes wonder how living the Tao is different from 'The Secret', the promise that the universe is your oyster as long as you believe that it is. Both philosophies are experiments. Embracing the Law of Attraction means that you believe that you can will your notion of Heaven on earth. Try it and see whether it works, what else can I say. A Tao traveler seeks meaning in life instead. We do not impose our will on anything just because we know that we do not know what really is good for us. Let life bring it on. If our experiment is successful, there is magic and happiness in every moment. Just try it!

The Ancient Voice

A friend gave him a copy of 'The Secret'. When he read it he couldn't believe it,  The Secret was true. For some reason he could do what few others have been able to accomplish; he could reprogram his thoughts and 'feel' the new situation and before he knew it, it materialized right in front of his astonished eyes. He endowed himself with the body of his dreams and after many a steamy night he realized that he wasn't really satisfied, something else was missing. He then invested all his psychic energy in his professional success. He got what he wanted and then some, but after after some initial high he still felt empty inside. Perhaps I need to live the traditional family life, he thought to himself, so he attracted the woman of his dreams and soon proposed marriage to her. She accepted; still, he felt restless.

As he was sitting in his meditation room, completely deflated, he just let his mind go back to memories of happiness. It was then that a voice in his head appeared 'So, you have finally tuned in.' The spiritual seeker felt completely over-powered by this voice. He finally realized that this immense feeling of serenity that he experienced at this moment was what he had been after for so long. 'I recognize Your voice', he said, ' I have seen glimpses of You all my life'. The voice in his head responded 'Yes, when you discovered The Secret, you learned how to flip thoughts and manifestations like radio stations. Similarly, I Am always present, but you have to tune into Me and unfortunately you can only do that if you stop searching elsewhere'. The spiritual seeker cried like he had never done before in his life, 'Nothing can compare with this peace, love and happiness. I am finally home. I Am!'

The Law of Attraction

I was sitting in my office and was looking up names on our internal directory and wondered why with one particular name, Mark, there appeared to be that amazing height differential. You have some Marks who are towering over me, while there are others who are smaller than me. For some reason I never run into a Mark who has my size.
While I was contemplating this curious fact and I was clicking in the directory on different names and faces, exactly these Marks passed my office on their trip to the morning coffee. A couple of years ago I would have been floored by this experience, these days I just smile, because occurrences like that hit me daily.

A Tao traveler is in tune with her environment. Life flows through her. She doesn't have a mission any more, just a general direction in which she is headed, but everything else she leaves up to the Tao to decide for her. It is the beginning of the end of your journey because you no longer run after things, you just let your existing drives run their course. On this journey you start to realize that life is not real. All the characters, you and I, are just part of a giant puppet play and we act out our conscious and subconscious missions.

I believe that you can manifest your desires mentally. 'The Secret' folks are probably on to something. After all, once you have realized that life and all the people you interact with are part of a giant connected psychological group exercise, you might as well experiment with this idea and see whether you can get something out of this game. But your mission statement on a spiritual path is a different one. Along the Tao you let go of the steering wheel. You might have to be in a twilight zone for a couple of life times, or you might be home in a couple of hours, in either way, you are going home because life has no longer anything to teach you. 'Not my will but Thine' period.

When I was a teenager I experienced lucid dreaming. The curious fact of gaining consciousness within the dream that one is dreaming. Well, I did what horny teenagers end up doing, I was chasing girls in my dream but to my surprise always woke up just when it got steamy. I haven't experienced lucid dreaming since, but if I did, I am pretty sure that I would just let the mental movie play without intervening. That is really the difference between 'The Secret' and the Tao, a spiritual path traveler just let's everything be, just enjoying the Devine plot through you.

The Power of Positive Action

There is quite an overlap between the Law of Attraction and the spiritual path. In both instances you conjecture that the current perspective is nothing but a transition towards a place that you know already exists. You have decided who you really are and, as you act like the person who you know you are, you attract like a magnet the situations that get you there. In the case of 'The Secret', you express your longings for wealth, relationships, career or fame. In the case of a spiritual path traveler, it is the ongoing connection with the 'beyond', the Tao or God that you are after.

The big difference is that with mental manifestations you accept your desires, whereas on your spiritual path you go a step further and decide that you are someone who has transcended your desires. In the LoA example you might be single, but you already purchase the tooth-brush for your partner because you know she is already waiting for you. In the case of the spiritual path traveler, you hear voices in your head that tell you to look out for only yourself, yet, all the choice you make are about choosing love and kindness because you know that in reality you are One with everyone.

The Power of Positive Action says as you do, reflects who you are, and who you are attracts the environment that celebrates who you are. Decide on wealth, relationships, your career and fame if this is what your heart desires, or on your fusion with God if this is what your heart desires. God is everywhere, so don't be shy expressing who you think you are.

Tao Masters

Let's say you are expressing 'Who You Think You Are',  as God puts it so well in Neale Walsch's 'Conversations with God'. Can you put your magic staff into the ground and scream 'I want it thus!'. Sure you can, after all, that is the promise of 'The Secret'. You have the power to do it, if you have the faith, or as we put it in more fashionable terms, if you have the power to overwrite your subconscious. But is that truly what you want?

You are God my friend, you can do whatever you want. The only question is, who do you want to be? The spiritual path travelers want liberation, they want this movie to end, or, they want to experience what it means to step out of the movie plot for a while. If this is your final goal, you are a Tao Master who uses her creative powers freely in interaction with the demands of the moment. This way you are bound by nothing. The Tao does what It needs to do in order to free you from the last invisible strings. Every moment is a new opportunity to choose love and to remove a little more of your personality skin in the process. As a Tao Master you are already a free being and soon enough liberation will be yours forever.

You Create Your Own World

The aggressive business person believes this is a 'dog-eat-dog' kind of world and he gets his wish. Why, because he will attract the characters in his life who are more than happy to play with him. When he is finally ready to move on just because he 'has been there and done that' and as he is no longer interested in competing with others and ruthlessly getting his way, his environment will adjust with his focus.

A woman believes that we are living in a loving and caring world and, after suffering a few bruises along the way, manages to creates her own reality. She surrounds herself with a loving family, has close and trusted friends and works in a caring environment. You may ask why she needs to suffer bruises first and the answer is that most of us deep inside worry that we will be beaten up if we are kind, loving and caring. Again, as your subconscious believes, so will you attract the demons that vindicate your deepest fears.

A spiritual aspirant believes the Tao sends him all the necessary information along the way and he gets his wish too. Bruises don't make any sense, since only  little nudges are required to make him change his behavior. The spiritual aspirant will most likely have similar demons as the caring woman who believes in love. The Tao is there to show you are you are invincible once you have conquered your fears and doubts. Everything that you encounter along the Tao happens to be an invite to align your subconscious with your conscious game plan.

Using The Law of Attraction for Spiritual Growth

The Law of Attraction states that you attract everything that happens to you. The 'secret crowd'tries you exploit this law in order to get something.  I tend to use the LoA in an indirect fashion. Observe everything that happens to you, and try to monitor your subconscious game plan accordingly.  If problems hit you, that just means that you have to dig down deep and figure out which psychological hurdles you still have to take. Viewed from this perspective there is really nothing to fear. Everything that happens to you is just a perfect opportunity to become whole here right now.

What exactly do you know about your subconscious, well little to nothing, that's the whole point of the below-your-conscious-surface expression. The good news though, the environment that you are creating for yourself with all the personal interactions that you are experiencing speaks volumes about what is going on below the surface. Whenever I feel tensions in myself, or face resistance with people or in situations, I always ask myself 'What is the learning opportunity here?' Until the day when you are whole, that is when everything you do reflects your true - conscious as well as subconscious - being, you will always attract healing opportunities into your life. Welcome them and put your best foot forward and before you know it, the lesson plan will be completed.

The master of 'the secret' - if something like that is possible - will have everything. But will she have the secret to happiness? The Tao master will do God's will instead, moment by moment, and with it happiness is guaranteed. Peace and happiness implies ever-present connectedness with the Source.

Mentalism, Spiritualism and Religion

I have been on a spiritual path for a few years now and have experimented with mental manifestations, traditional faith and what I would call my own spiritual path that takes elements from both. Combining these different philosophies is what perhaps many have to face, so I hope my note can be of help and interest to others.

I was born and raised a Christian, but I "lost faith" sometime as a teenager. My spiritual interest became rekindled when I came across the writings of Krishnamurti, the Course in Miracles, the Geeta, the Tao and many other mystics from India. So I would define myself as spiritual, but not religious. Meanwhile, I have 'swallowed' many books on the law of attraction, and had to smile a little when my brother called me a mentalist the other day. So with a foot or a toe in all three of the spiritual spectres, let me give you my take on it.

If you follow a religious faith, you walk in mighty company. If you have your focus on the final stage of liberation and you walk with a laser like focus along a path that other giants have marked for you, you will likely come very far. Unfortunately you cannot really be a scientist and you have to accept the written and spoken word like a gospel. Another downfall is that you can develop a massive super ego if you have any vasanas (desires) that you still need to work off. My favorite example in this direction is sex. Many if not most spiritual aspirants have a lot of energy to work off and they just go crazy with the command you are not your body. But as many of us know, this conflict doesn't have to be there, tantra sex allows you to experiment with the divine sexual energy and channel your desires in a higher spiritual dimension. I give here the example of sex, but many other conflicts come to  mind.

On the other side of the spectrum is the secret and so many other authors that have discovered over the last century that we can pretty much manifest anything we want mentally. You literally reach Eric Fromm's assertion that if you really take the philosophical evolution of the bible literally, the limit has to be that "You Shall be as Gods". The secret eats from the Tree of Knowledge a second time, the manifestor creates the universe at his will. There is only one problem with this approach, how do you know which of your desires are the ego driven ones and which ones express your divine mission statement? Unless this spiritual question gets resolved any manifestor has sooner or later run into a brick wall.

The spiritual path traveler can be a scientist and can experiment with anything and everything as long as he is honest with himself and mindful enough to understand when he is taking a step backwards. Life, the Tao, is your teacher and hopefully you don't have to deal with any super-egos and you are mindful enough to realize when you are on an ego trip. We are all in the same boat no matter what our specific starting point is. My favorite example is Rhonda Byrne. When I first read her 'The Secret' book I didn't care much for it as I considered it way too materialistic. But then when her 'The Power' came out, it became pretty clear that she is on the same spiritual path as the many of us are. Happy traveling and enjoy dabbling in all metaphysical areas of your liking.

You will get what you want, unless ...

I remember once having a spiritual discussion with a friend, who is a catholic, and said to her that I have no problem with miracles, but that I didn't think any of them would ever violate a physical or a mathematical law. In the meantime I have read a little about the increasingly bizarre new insights physics has come up with recently, and my statement doesn't really seem to be a stretch. It appears that with these 'laws' almost everything is possible.

To continue with the theme of linking spirituality with mathematics, I had another idea. One day somebody in the Personal Development Forum for Smart People said to me that you, as a Son or Daughter of God, always get what you want. This sounded nice and is probably right, but I am tempted to add this formula: you are perhaps able to get anything your heart desires as long as it can be put into a subject to constraint, and your maximizing function is your spiritual Tao. To give an example, you may like to have a BMW, a nice house, a loving family, a creative job, but otherwise you leave it up to the Source to tell you what your path is all about.

The universe is expanding at an incomprehensible rate every moment, do you really think the Source is losing sleep over what some of your personal preferences are. The problem comes if you are saying no to love and choose to give in to the "cry for more" instead. This urge is always wrapped in some pseudo-motives, but they will lead you into nowhere unless you figure this issue out. The Source cannot help you with those desires as you are hurting yourself without knowing it. As Jesus said in the Course in Miracles, if you see a child with scissors, wouldn't you take them away even if the child cries? Mind the hunger for more, but otherwise the universe always asks, 'How may we help you?"

Share the Secret

In a remote Indian village many thousand years ago, a sunburnt naked old man ran down the street screaming, "I have discovered the secret of the universe, it's all maya; your world changes according to the way you think, say and act!"

A young man from a well-off family heard the ramblings of the old man. "Amazing", he said, "just imagine what happens if I think day and night that I will be the Raja of India". A monk in a near-by forest heard these words as well, but concluded very differently. "Amazing", he said to himself, "if everything we see is what we think, then what will I see if I manage to burst all mental bubbles before they form?".

The first man became an important Raja in India whose empire lasted several centuries. The story of the Buddha you already know. Share the secret!

Power and Love

When the power of love replaces the love of power, man will have a new name, God.
(Sri Chinmoy)

I have always considered The Secret movement a little materialistic and saw the risk that it sends spiritual aspirants on a massive power trip. Fortunately, when I browsed Rhonda Byrne's latest book, The Power, I felt she put us right back on our spiritual path. She rightly emphasizes that the Law of Attraction just reflects your feelings back to you. When you are full of love and enthusiasm, you will magically attract these positive vibrations into your life, and the power will follow you as an afterthought as well.

Power without peace and love is a curse, as Darth Vader has so powerfully demonstrated. In contrast, peace and love is the power that propels you along your spiritual path. Whenever you have to choose between power and love, and you have the power to choose the latter, your power to manifest the Tao will grow proportionately. May peace, love and the force be with you!

Whenever One Door Closes ...

I have a lot of respect for our "manifestation crowd", who show us that we live in a matrix and everything that we see and experience is a product of your own mind. Still, I cannot say that I have had much experience with this concept; if so then only in an indirect way: my path is one where I believe that everything that gets attracted into my life does have a spiritual learning experience for me and allows me to learn what unanticipated consequences my actions have, as well as displaying my hidden agenda and subconscious motives.

Lord Krishna states in the Gita, 'The right is to work only, but never the fruits of your labor. Be thou not the producer of the fruits; neither let thy attachment be towards inaction.' Boy, isn't the Secret all about the fruits? Unfortunately, I have no answer to this inherent contradiction. In the end I always come back to the same conclusion, live your life like a leaf in the wind. Always put your best foot forward in realizing what you want to achieve, but be entirely flexible towards the outcome. I happen to work with financial markets and have discovered that the path of non-resistance works for me best there as well. Put your best foot forward, observe what happens, and then put your best foot forward again. That's all you can do and never mind if you happen to walk in the opposite direction than before.

I understand that this approach is not very confidence inspiring, since I am really saying that I do not have any control over anything - much in contrast to the keeper of the secret. But I do have confidence in one thing, if the spiritual path exist, I will always be allowed and encouraged to express myself creatively: The right is to work only ... So bring on whatever has to happen, but trust that whenever one door closes another one opens.

The Story of the Manifesting Mushrooms

A keeper of the Secret told some friends at a picnic in the forest the art of manifestations. Two mushrooms overheard the conversation and wondered whether they too have the power to mentally change reality.

The first thought to himself, I could have so much water and he visualized how a big branch would fall on the ground and divert more rainwater into his direction. The second mushroom at a nearby colony thought that he was actually doing OK, but that his brothers and sisters always looked a little dry, so he visualized how a big stone that had diverted rainwater would just disappear. Hardly had they uttered these thoughts, a branch fell down and diverted rainwater to the first mushroom, while a big bear kicked the stone for the second mushroom away.

When the rainfall came the first mushroom could finally drink as much as he wanted, while the second mushroom was happy to see that his brothers and sisters could drink ample amounts. The big surprise came next day when the first mushroom dried out faster than he had ever before, while the second enjoyed the moisture for many days. What neither mushroom knew, mushrooms only look separate on the surface, below each colony forms one unit. What you give you brother, you give yourself, and what you take away from your sister you steal from yourself.

A Strange Kind of Power

I was returning from a business trip to Europe and I was standing in line for boarding. The boarding crew called out 3 names when suddenly the thought flashed, "Oh, you will be flying first class today". Three names were called and mine wasn't part of the list, so I thought so much about my intuition. Five minutes later two more names were called, again my name wasn't on the list. We boarded the plane and I had already forgotten all about it when suddenly a woman approached me "Oh, you have 11G as well?" You can imagine the rest of the story.

So what power have I acquired in the meantime? I am just tuned in with what happens. With little tricks like that you can impress your family, but you cannot accomplish anything actively on your own; it is the Force that does everything. You are just an aware bystander. "Without my Father I am nothing", Jesus says. In fact, once you feel connected to the Source you stay as humble as you can and just drift like a leaf in the wind because you want to maintain this precious connection moment by moment.

How different the situation must be for the people who want to use the Law of Attraction actively. Just imagine I would have decided in the morning to treat myself with a first class upgrade. I probably would have sat in the taxi concentrating on this outcome to convince my subconscious that the universe has a first class seat for me. I could have missed the smile of the cab driver when he phoned his daughter, missed the blooming trees outside, or missed the song on the radio that had an answer to a question that was on my mind. The Secret is powerful, but it can cut you off from the Source.
