The Secret Along the Way

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew (6:33)

There is no wrong or right, there is only your way. If your soul is hungry, go out and get them tiger; the success, the sex, the beauty, the partner of your dreams, the wealth, the power, the status, the creativity and connection. We all need meaning in our life so find whatever is meaningful to you. In the end though, nothing can really satisfy you unless you are experiencing God's love. And unless you travel God's path there will always be a primal fear in the background that you simply can't shake no matter how good you are at manifesting things and events.

The Law of Attraction is one side of the coin, your spiritual path the other. Both sides matter and both necessitate each other. If you try to find love, peace and joy by searching for God but your soul is still hungry, the restlessness will not leave you either. You can meditate, sign up for spiritual retreats and yoga classes, yet, somehow you always feel that something is missing. Yet, life has an answer in hand for you no matter what your starting point: the Secret will sooner or later lead you to God, while your spiritual path will sooner or later show you what repressed desires you still have to work off.

You deserve to live in abundance and you deserve to feel God's love and peace every step of the Way. The Secret is a life philosophy that shows us that we shall be as Gods, yet it is an empty promise unless we walk next to Her. Abundance and love go hand in hand. Abundance

Caroline Knapp was an anorexia and put her struggles down in the book Appetites. She actually started her story with an observation of Renoir's paintings, and the fact that many women he drew were quite chubby, a symbol of lust, power and abundance. She never allowed herself that privilege and instead starved and punished herself. In her words, "I would make myself small, fragile, and non-threatening". When she psychologically analyzed herself she figured that she punished herself for the problems of her parents. She became a mirror of their unresolved struggles.

Princess Diana had a different eating disorder, bulimia. When she came out admitting her affliction,she said that during her eating binges she temporarily felt the feeling of fulfillment that is missing in her life. Diana replaced the missing love from her husband with food!
Amazingly, both women knew the root cause of their afflictions, yet how hard is was for both of them to change course.

It is not hard to see that the feeling of abundance would have helped both women. The affirmation that they already have: for Caroline, who had an superb intellect and a giant heart, the right to display all with a full figure, thus stepping out of her parent's shadow for once and for all. For Princess Diana, the realization that she had the love of her children and England; all she had to do was to end her love-less marriage.

What is your perceived area of insecurity? Are you pressed for time, do you mind something about your body; is something missing in your job or your love life? Remind yourself of the abundance of the universe. If the almost infinite universe accelerates with increasing speed, as some researchers claim, do you really believe there is something God is not willing or able to give you? Believe in abundance and peace will be yours.

The Tao of Love and Abundance

What do you experience when you go for a nature walk and see all the flowers blooming, the leaves sprouting and all the different kinds of plants spreading all over the place? Don’t you feel uplifted and full of energy? Don’t you feel the abundant energy emanating from God? How do you feel when you walk on the beach? You see the blue sky and the amazing dance of the waves. You can see a magnificent sunrise and a colorful sunset. Don’t you feel peaceful, wonderful and totally blessed when you experience this spectacle? You never feel poor when you experience nature. You always enjoy abundance and lively energy. Have you ever observed that we humans seem to be the only specie on earth who radiates the energy of poverty and neediness. When you walk in nature, you can always see that God gives us more than we ever need. God showers us with abundance.

Your thinking creates poverty. Observe for yourself, whenever you think that you don’t have something, you will start looking for it externally. You start looking at your neighbor's yard and convince yourself that his grass is a lot greener. Your thinking and looking creates a negative feeling and your vision "verifies" this belief. And once you see you "know" that what you believed was right.

Say you don't feel loved. Whenever you think this way, you create a needy energy for yourself. This needy energy makes you feel poor and clingy. You become like a beggar, you beg for people’s love. Yet, you don't seem to know, don't trust, that people love you. Your soul partner already exists, you may not have met him yet, but he has already been chosen for you. Trust in the abundance, know that you have and see that as your attitude changes, the abundance is suddenly available.

When you experience abundance instead you connect with people because you feel that you have so much joy, love and energy to share. Other people become the vessel that soaks up all the energy that is generated within you. When you give you feel like a king and you are in return showered with as much love as you can handle.

Be aware of your thinking. There are many self improvement disciplines that try to teach you how you can attract abundance by having the right thoughts. Fact of the matter is you don't have to do anything. Just embrace the Tao, be the Tao, and discover for yourself that wherever you step there is love, joy and abundance.

Spirituality as a Service

Have you ever thought about your relationship with money? Typically money is not appreciated in our spiritual community. Many see it as an ego symbol, which it certainly is. Still, your daily activities do involve money, so you have to deal with it one way or another.

When you look down on money, there is still ego involved too. Your ego wants you to be "holier" than other people. Yet, we are all equal, even if we are spiritual path travelers while some others aren't, we are all children of God. We all have different presents to share with the world. We share our presents with each other and get rewards in return. There always is a balance between giving and receiving. By getting your reward you will allow the people who use your service to show their appreciation. Everyone stands on the equal ground after the transaction. If you only want to give and refuse to take, you in fact refuse to stand on equal ground with others and will feel superior consciously or subconsciously.

Your client also has the desire to pay for the service he receives. It might as well be that the customer also feels better about the service if it is priced adequately. We know this sounds weird, but more often than not it holds true. A number of spiritual coaches reported that after they had charged a higher price, the quality and the interest of their audience improved significantly. So please put aside your ego for the benefit of all parties involved; charge your clients with good intentions at heart.

The spiritual community needs a lesson plan in limiting beliefs as well. Living in abundance is not evil; God doesn't mind if you are rich. Envision how you want to live your life and let the Tao show you how to get there. There always is a way.

I See

An attractive woman rides in the subway and sees a well-groomed man next to her. Suits are rare in today's casual work place, so she figures he must be a lawyer or an investment banker. When they chat she realizes that he is just a lowly research assistant; not that she would hold that against him, but somehow, on a second look, he doesn't look so attractive after all.

When you see, it is literally the 'I' that sees: the ego, the accumulated past and all the associated expectations. So what you see only really exists in your own mind; no one else will perceive the situation as you do. As a matter of fact, life provides you with all the characters and situations that you encounter today, to offer you the opportunity to see for yourself that the world is a different place. When you encounter situations multiple times, you cannot help putting one and one together. The woman in the example will probably learn to look twice, once her 'status button' gets pushed.

One day you wake up from your biased perspective and on that day you are literally a liberated soul, able to see a new world. The trouble only is that a similar eye-opening experience may lie ahead in different aspects of your life. The ego is multifaceted as we all know so well. But it does get easier and the wake-up process is cumulative. Your sensitivity towards life goes up just as you let go of your psychological baggage. The world that awaits you is full of love and abundance. You rub your eyes and ask yourself how you couldn't have seen these gems before. See for yourself my friend!

The Expanding Pie

This idea contains the first glimmerings of your true function in the world, or why you are here. Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness. Thus are you and the world blessed together. No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision. It signifies the end of sacrifice because it offers everyone his full due. And he is entitled to everything because it is his birthright as a Son of God.
A Course in Miracles

Some people have the strange notion that they can only get something of value if they take it way from someone else. Well, it is true if you believe it is. But it doesn't have to be that way. We live in a world of abundance. A job is waiting for you that allows you to create whatever your heart desires. And as you do you will connect with others and allow them to be themselves. Every contribution will add to the expanding pie and the distribution of this pie should be the least of your concern. Eat to your heart's desire but then go back and create some more just by being yourself. It is that simple really.
