The Long Night of the Full Moon

My father has bi-polar and I feel his "dis-ease" in my bones. Like him, I have trouble sleeping and there are nights when I realize at 1 pm that this was just as much sleep as I am likely to get. I know for a fact that astrology works because I can feel the moon in my "system". Give me a rainy 2 pm night near a full moon embedded in a powerful star constellation and a tornado runs through me.

Isn't unfair that I can't sleep the way others can and isn't unfair that my father was never able to shake his illness and had to endure it for 40 years? Isn't it unfair that my livelihood depends on a stressful market place that evokes fears, manic depressions and greed? Probably, but it may just be that you can enjoy my writings because of it. Writing is my way out of the dilemma. I just sit here and face the storm without doing anything about it. No alcohol, no coffee, no medications, no distractions and no escapes - I just sit here and transform the creativity of the energy-laden situation into this note. 

The German poet Goethe once said, "only the inadequate is productive". Once you truly feel the meaning of this realization in your bones, you are Home. Nothing can get you, nothing can upset you. All frustration is channeled into creative actions. Fact of the matter is that you can't blame God for where you end up, only yourself. But fact of the matter too is the realization that with every step of the Way you have God right next to you and She gives you the creative outlet to find your Self. Please use the long night of the full moon to find yours. It might be meditation, it might be writing or painting; it might be dancing,  sex or connecting with others; it might be martial arts or kick-boxing; it might be praying or appealing to your guiding spirits. No matter what you do, use that priceless opportunity to discover that you are perfectly imperfect and powerful beyond measure. 

As Below, So Above

You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.

They say, as above, so below. Do you know what this implies? Can you imagine that our entire destiny is written in the stars? You must have noticed yourself that there are periods when walking is as hard as if concrete is tied to your feet. While on others, pretty much no matter what you do, everything falls into your lap easily. All these up and down phases are written in the stars, and a skilled astrologer can tell you about it in your charts.

Who knows whether we have a choice in what we do or not. Who knows what exactly in our lives is predetermined and what is not. But if the 'as above, so below' statement is correct then it is hard to imagine that our willpower can change the trajectory of stars. Yet, within a written life-story there is probably a high degree of freedom what you can do with it.

The upside of 'as above, so below' is information. If we are operating in a hologram, all the information above must be at our disposal below. So all we ever need to know slumbers deep inside of us. Just as Rumi says, we are the entire ocean in a drop.

The Wheel Keeps Spinning, But You Don't

Every day Google picks a new image for its browser and today's one really spoke to me. It shows all the planets of our solar system and how they spin around the sun. Did you know that your life tracks these planetary motions perfectly? I remember the time when I suddenly recognized patterns at work, some were ten year patterns, while others happened more frequent. It is as if people play out subconscious programs and these events follow our planetary movements like clock-work. You don't need to get depressed when you read this. You very much have a chance stepping out of it. When your intention is healing, all that these patterns can do is to give you another opportunity to undo the missteps of the past.

A spiritual path traveler is perfectly protected. This is impossible to understand unless you are a traveler yourself, and even then, the wisdom of this statement might only begin to dawn on you. You are perfectly protected for even though the wheel will keep spinning, you will be a bystander, reaffirming motions on occasions that have to take place anyway. You heal life with your presence, and as you do, you understand that this is your spiritual mission and always has been. Along your path you are no longer in the way of things because your soul siblings direct traffic and you are just reacting to their advice. You are perfectly protected as long as you listen to every voice and when you understand and react to every symbol that comes your way. Sure, it is a journey to become this master of life, but you know what, you have sign posts that every child can read: choose love no matter what.

Time for a Group Prayer?

Whenever I see this gushing pipe in the Gulf my heart is bleeding. I understand that we are in a cosmic period in which some of the exising mental tension is released in order to prepare humanity for a higher plane of consciousness. As the Gita says, whenever societies go under I (Lord Krishna) will be born again. Damage needs to be done, and our devine mother Kali is clearly at work here, but enough is enough. If we are all so enlightened in this community we should be able to mentally close this pipe.
